A Review of
Value-based Requirements Engineering (RE) For Value Webs |
Authors |
Muhammad Imran
Babar, Shahbaz A. K. Ghayyur |
Abstract |
In the review the
focus is on the value-based requirement engineering for value webs. The
value webs promote the concepts of e-business and e- commerce in terms
of e-services. An e-business provides a procedure to transform business
relationships between B2C, B2B, intra-Business and C2C. Such information
systems are interconnected through internet technology and the exchange
of economic objects for different actors is being performed. The basic
inclination towards development of such value-based web applications
forces the individuals to apply the requirements engineering techniques.
These techniques are used to elicit the interests and constraints of the
involved stakeholders at various levels. Value webs are value oriented
with respect to economics. The innovative requirement engineering
approaches are being required for value-centered business and these
approaches integrate the benefit with the application for the companies.
Further in this paper a logical interface approach is being adopted for
requirement engineering or requirement gathering using linear
requirements change at initial stage of RE. Simply speaking something
must be novel and innovative to support the value-based paradigm. |

M. Khan, Shahbaz A. K. Ghayyur |
Abstract |
Requirement
prioritization facilitates requirement engineering process. It also
helps requirement engineers makes crucial decisions about requirements
in a software development process. Requirement prioritization process is
used to determine which candidate requirement of a software project
should be included in a certain release, for this purpose different
techniques are used. These techniques use different approaches and
consider different factors for prioritization e.g. cost, value, risk,
benefit etc. This paper describes an evaluation of most commonly
techniques used for requirement prioritization and also a new approach
is described that shows how requirement prioritization process should be
carried out. |

An Estimation of
Multilevel Inverter Fed Induction Motor Drive |
Authors |
K.Ramani and Dr.A.
Krishnan SMIEEE |
Abstract |
This paper
highlights a hybrid multilevel inverter for A.C electrical drives. In
recent days multilevel inverters has become very popular for motor drive
applications of industry .Multilevel pulse width modulation inversion is
an effective solution for increases the level number of the output wave
form and thereby dramatically reduced to the harmonics and total
harmonic distortion. In conventional methods, the need of converters to
supply the cells of reversible multilevel converters increases the cost
and losses of such inverters. In this new topology the output waveform
consists of SVdc; S-number of stages and the associated number of level
equal 2s+1 1. The output waveform has 15 levels. Moreover, the stage
with higher DC link voltage has lower switching frequency and thereby
reduces the switching losses. Comparison of conventional results will be
presented |

NOVEL DEVELOPMENT
OF A FUZZY CONTROL SCHEME WITH UPFCs FOR DAMPING OF OSCILLATIONS IN
MULTI-MACHINE POWER SYSTEMS |
Authors |
Dakka Obulesu,
Dr. S.F. Kodad, Dr. B.V. Sankaram |
Abstract |
This paper presents
a novel development of a fuzzy logic controlled power system using UPFCs
to damp the oscillations in a FACTS based integrated multi-machine power
system consisting of 3 generators, 3 transformers, 9 buses, 4 loads & 2
UPFCs. Oscillations in power systems have to be taken a serious note of
when the fault takes place in any part of the system, else this might
lead to the instability mode & shutting down of the power system. UPFC
based POD controllers can be used to suppress the oscillations upon the
occurrence of a fault at the generator side or near the bus side. In
order to improve the dynamic performance of the multi-machine power
system, the behavior of the UPFC based POD controller should be
coordinated, otherwise the power system performance might be
deteriorated. In order to keep the advantages of the existing POD
controller and to improve the UPFC-POD performance, a hybrid fuzzy
coordination based controller can be used ahead of a UPFC based POD
controller to increase the system dynamical performance & to coordinate
the UPFC-POD combination. This paper depicts about this hybrid
combination of a fuzzy with a UPFC & POD control strategy to damp the
electro-mechanical oscillations. The amplification part of the
conventional controller is modified by the fuzzy coordination
controller. Simulink models are developed with & without the hybrid
controller. The 3 phase to ground symmetrical fault is made to occur
near the first generator for 200 ms. Simulations are performed with &
without the controller. The digital simulation results show the
effectiveness of the method presented in this paper. |

ANALYSIS AND MEASURES OF SOFTWARE
REUSABILITY |
Authors |
G.N.K.Suresh Babu, Dr.S.K.Srivatsa |
Abstract |
As software systems become more
and more complex, software programmers needs to know a variety of
information and knowledge in various areas. So the Programmers / Company
must store knowledge and manage it for reuse. Software reuse is the
process of creating software systems from existing software rather than
building them from scratch. This paper describes the software reuse
possibilities and measures how much code can be modified from the
existing software? If so any problem occurs to the productivity and the
comparison of reusable types along with their properties. Finally the
reusable software and its cost also discussed. |

factors for Requirements engineering in the development of Large Scale
Systems |
Authors |

Abstract |
The development
of large scale software systems is a complex and lengthy activity. In
the development of large scale systems different types of stockholders
(e.g. customers, system users, system analysts, designers, and software
developers) have to take part and work with one another. Requirement
engineering is considered to be the most important activity in the
development of software systems [6]. If the system under development is
a large and complex system, then the importance of the requirement
engineering becomes even more important and necessary. There are many
problems and challenges that the development organizations are facing in
the requirement engineering phase for large scale systems. The software
engineering community is working day and night in this area and they
have proposed many solutions and lessons for addressing these problems
and challenges faced. This paper presents the main contribution of the
research work that have been conducted in recent years to identify the
requirement challenges faced in large scale development systems and
proposed lessons learned addressing these challenges. In this paper we
have presented two challenges that were observed by us in [LSS]
projects. This paper also identifies issues and questions which are
still open for further research and thus it will serve the future
researchers as a guide map for doing research in requirement
engineering. |

Prof.M.Lilly Florence, Dr. P.
Balasubramanie |
Abstract |
MLFB Neural
network model by back propagation algorithm is one of the most
significant methods in artificial neural network. MLFB model have been
used in many areas of medical application. This paper describes the
regimens specification for the HIV/AIDs patients based on the patients
unique factors like age, weight, HB, CD4, CD8 . Using this MLFB back
propagation algorithm, the regimens specification for the patient is
calculated and to approximately predict, how long the patient can
prolong his/her life with this regimens. This model is trained with 200
Patients medical information as input and regimens are the weight of
the network. This network is adjusted with the threshold 0.001, so that
it minimizes the error. The mapping and adjustment are continuing until
all mapping example from the training set are learned. |

THE RESULTS IN MINERAL PROCESSING |
Authors |
Sasa Pusica, M.Pusica |
Abstract |
Evolution of
information technology and computer industry with direct or indirect
implementation enable fast progress in many field of science. In mineral
processing we use information technology and computer mostly like text
processor, spreadsheet calculator or for graphical presentation for
datas of analysis (grainsize, sediment, heavy media) using special
software systems like EXCEL, QUATTRO, ORIGIN etc. After this, we can
store the datas in various formats on disk, but can not directly store
in format for searching this datas like: author of analysis, name of
sample, type of sample, type of analysis, date of analysis, keywords,
etc. With database information system, we can solve this problem and
this paper show how to make the relationship model for the results of
analysis in mineral processing, data model diagram, primary key for
database and other things for database information system. |

New Energy Level Efficiency Issues
in MANET |
Authors |
K. Arulanandam, Dr. B.
Parthasarathy |
Abstract |
Energy is the
scarcest resource for the operation of the mobile ad hoc networks. Idle
energy consumption is responsible for a large portion of the overall
energy consumption in the wireless interfaces of the mobile nodes.
Therefore, it is crucial to energy conservation efforts that this source
of energy is eliminated or reduced. Our goal in this research is to
create a new energy conservation scheme that works on reducing idle
energy consumption. This scheme works with existing routing algorithms
of all categories. It aims at achieving energy conservation in a manner
fair to all network nodes. It is distributed in nature, and its
functionality is independent of the strategy and architecture of the
routing protocol |
